Our first nitrate testing for the year
was held on Saturday,
February 4, at the Tri-County Health Fair in Wadena. We fielded
numerous questions on what nitrates are, how to treat nitrates and overall
questions about the quality of water in our area.
57 samples were tested, with 6 samples over 10 ppm (parts per million).
Nitrate levels 0-10 ppm in drinking water are safe for all humans.
Anything over 10 ppm is not safe for infants or the elderly with health
issues. The average nitrate result for this clinic was 3.2 ppm.
